Sippel Family Farm
Ben Sippel
Mt Gilead, Ohio
Ben
and Lisa are the young couple that owns this
77-acre farm near Mt. Gilead. Ben has
known that farming and involvement in
agriculture would be his chosen vocation since
he was a teenager. They purchased the farm
in 2003 from a family that had owned it since
1953. They live in the original farmhouse,
which sits on a hill overlooking a creek.
Beyond the creek are acres of organically grown
lettuce, tomatoes, squash, carrots, potatoes,
beets, edamame, pumpkin and more. They now
manage their own CSA (Community Supported
Agriculture Program) for 100 healthy eating
members as well as selling at two markets
weekly!
