2 Silos
Denise Anderson, Mt. Gilead, 45 miles
Denise Beno Anderson started 2silos in January
2004 as an organic egg farm. Since that time,
2silos has expanded to offer fresh

At 2silos, we farm by hand, using organic
methods. We strive for sustainability and raise
most of our own food. We continually nourish the

Jacket after the Chief of the Shawnee Indians of
that name. Making great-tasting high-quality
cheese is our #1 goal. Our animals are
well-cared for; they are the basis of our
livelihood and growth hormones (rBST) are never
used.

hand-made pretzels and twists we love so much.
We use high-quality flour, freshly cut jalapenos
and apples, and freshly ground spices in each
pretzel.

as oriental lilies, tulips, sunflowers and
gladiolus. With the Birth of Jolie in April

methods to avoid the use of sprays on my

at the proper time. I feel I am able to bring
quality flowers to the markets without the use
of insecticides.

are certified organic and seek to be sustainable
in every way with minimum inputs from off the
farm, heating with wood, producing our own fuel
for tractors, and cutting our own wood for
building construction. Our philosophy directs us
to sell directly to the people who will eat the
food so they will know where it comes from. Our
corn is sold to you as cornmeal, our wheat and
spelt as flour. For the sake of your trust, our
beef is born and raised on the farm, and all of
our maple, poultry, and vegetable products are
grown on the farm. Eat to your health.

Justice Gardens
"Justice Gardens is working to ensure
that the sustainable agriculture movement
reaches under-served communities, lower income
families, and at-risk youth. Our vision is to
expand the boundaries of who gets the good
stuff. Using the USDA Victory Garden campaign as
a model (which produced over 20 million gardens
in 1943), we’re cultivating the idea that urban
agriculture and "local food" is not just about
getting better food for yourself...but about
doing justice on behalf of others. Hands in the
dirt...veggies on plates."

tune with Mother Nature, our products have a
third better nutrition profile and a superior
taste. Benefits of grass farming include more
humane animal treatment, more nutritious dairy
products, reduced soil erosion, more sustainable
manure management, less E. coli food poisoning,
fertile soil and nutritious forages, and more
diverse and healthier ecosystems.
OMC Farms/Smokin T's
Todd Neczeparenko, Jefferson, OH
In 2005, the idea for Oink Moo Cluck Farms
spawned from Tricia Woods’ inspiration to share
with others her love of all natural, quality
meats that she enjoyed on the farm growing up in
Ashtabula Co. She recruited her brother Todd, a
3rd generation farmer, to help her realize her
vision. For the past 4 years, they have worked
in tandem to provide their tasty products. At
OMC, we raise our animals on our small 100 acre
family farm in a healthy and open environment
while allowing them each to reach their natural
maturity on a diet of natural grains and grasses
and without the aid of hormones and antibiotics.
Unlike many farms, we complete our own
processing to ensure the most humane treatment
of our animals and to maintain complete control
of our quality and safety of the final product.
Lastly, we take great pride in adding our
personalized touch to several of our specialty
meats. For example, we have come up with our own
barbeque sauce that accompanies our ribs, pulled
pork and shredded chicken. Also, we offer a
variety of flavored jerky and beef sticks that
help set OMC apart.

farm, it is now a certified family forest (tree
farm) where native plants are grown on 10 acres

manufactured into picture frames, cutting
boards, firewood and other woodland products.
After retiring from the Ohio DNR, Randy formed

resources on the woodland family farm in an
environmentally and economically sustainable
way. No chemicals are used to grow native plants
in the nursery areas and insecticides are rarely
used to control wood eating insects on the air
